HARD PRACTICE EQUALS AN EASIER COMPETITION ?

COMPETING-TIME TO PUT ALL THE PRACTICE TO THE TEST

Sunland Martial Arts also has a competition once a year (click here)

Master Kim requires each student to participate in at least three events before they can test for their Black belt.

The events are fun and show many students the sport side of TKD for the first time.

Each event may have multiple disciplines the students may compete in, such as forms, sparing, weapons, judo sweep, and others. These are determined by the event host. They are put into categories according to age, size and belt level.

How well they do is determined by how well  they can focus and put into practice what they have been taught in the studio, and can do so, not only in the test ring against one or two others ( determined by the discipline being tested ), but in front of hundreds of on looking participants, and fans.

Competitions also let them know what they have to work on more in the studio before the next time they go.

What to compete in is determined by the student and is more of a test of themselves and how they handle the results than anything else.
