Articles by Robert Nixon

The Cpu Cash Network is all about website marketing and promotions and is dedicated to putting honesty and respect back into the way internet business is run and perceived, especially 'home business'.

It really does not matter what you are promoting. That you believe in it, it works, and does work for others is enough.
Hey, we can teach anything but we can not provide the determination and participation it takes to become successful can we ?

How do you Relay the benefits ?

You must know your products and have the ability to RELAY  the benefits of them !!

IF PEOPLE KNOW WHAT YOUR PRODUCT CAN DO FOR THEM AND WHY THEY MAY NEED THEM ....THEN  THE COST WON'T MATTER AS MUCH AS YOU MAY THINK !!

KNOW your offer, and it's tools etc, thourghly.
Most people were indeed very happy to have autos when they became more than just toys. It beat the heck outta walking and horseback. For many years all autos had manual shifting transmissions.
Although the cost of an automatic transmission was very high, many changed over to them.
Why?
The auto makers pointed out a key benefit.
THE EASE of just putting the transmission in 'Drive' !!

Even so, you have one major fight on your hands today with offering any internet opp.....'the get rich quick'attitude.

YOU MUST REALIZE:
Successful business  persons do what is necessary to achieve their goal. They recognize success is tough and they are ready to stand against all objections and obstacles they encounter.

>From my experience, I realize that the best and most effective advertising medium is email advertising. I have nothing against banner ads but email advertising has always worked best for me and still works best. So, what is it that makes email work?

Email advertising works because, your ad message goes directly to your prospects email box. They can read it immediately or they may go through it later.

I personally see banner advertising as a way of building the credibility of your business.

People have to visit your web pages before they see your ads.

Though this works too but this means you can only show your ads to people who visit your web site.

75% of all visitors to your web site come directly from  somewhere. Guess where? (Direct inquiries)

25% come from 'links' or 'referral pages'.

Comparatively speaking, I have realized that I get about half of those responses  from Email advertising.
The rest come from other Advertising methods, such as FFA's, using submitters, etc.

As an Internet business person, you may want to understand what email advertising is and how to get started with your own email advertising campaign.

Email advertising is the act of sending your ads messages only to people who have requested this information.

To do this, you must get your own email leads generators online or purchase services that offer spam free email leads. This means, you don't have to purchase that list of 1.5 million email addresses of people who do not give you permission to send them your ad.

If you do, it would be considered as spam and your ISP or the company you are representing will kick you off the Internet.

There are several good email lead generators out there.

For example, Opt in Lightning (the little 'pop up' box that you see on some sites asking you to subscribe) or you own 'links' site, are lead generators that guarantees over thousands email addresses of opportunity seekers monthly.

You can have your ads message sent to people who have requested to receive this information.

<<<<<<< This saves you from being accused of spamming.>>>>>>>>>>>

While recruiting people into your business, you will find many that seem to be interested in your opportunity but lacking the desire to commitment to do it.

Your job is to work with only those people who are interested in getting started.

Avoid the time wasters. (those with the 'lottery' type fever)

They are of no good to your dream, so they don't deserve your precious time. They will pretend to join or will give you lots of excuses or ask multiple question that would lead you no where.

So only work with people who are interested in doing this business and avoid the others.

To determine this, you are required to probe your new recruits, ask them straightforward questions.

You then want to answer there replies with something like:

I want to help you achieve your goal but you must help me with this.

I am sorry but I only would like to work with interested prospects.

I need to really spend my quality time with only serious people who wish to make this business work for them

A serious prospect will respond to your questions, your job is therefore to follow up with these serious ones if you like what you hear.
Others may reply and say all kinds of incredible words. You are suppose to follow up with whomever responds clarifying their concerns.

At times may take about 7-email communications with a prospect to convince them to join your opportunity.

For those that did not respond or wouldn't be in contact with you need to keep trying to talk to them.
You've got to keep the email communication going on until they either do what is necessary or ask to be deleted from your list.
This is the act of recruiting.

Sponsoring is different from recruiting !!

While recruiting is the process of getting them in your program, sponsoring is the process of getting your new recruit started and teaching them what it takes to make their business successful.

Recruiting without sponsoring is a business killer. To be successful in business, you need to do both.

You need to recruit them in and help them to achieve their goal.

You need to team up with your new recruit to build their business.

This is Teamwork marketing.
You've got to now spend some quality time with your new recruit to get them started, initially.

You may need to email them regularly for 30 days.
Find out what their initial challenges are and work with them to clarify these challenges.
I normally advise my associates to ensure that their new recruit understands the business concept.

Taking them through the marketing materials provided by the company.

If you are a smart business person, your job is therefore to help your new recruit understand all the marketing information provided on the company's sites, those that offer 'tools' and etc.

Ensure that they understand the company policies.
The good news is once that your new recruit has enough in commissions to take care of their monthly subscription, they would hardly quit the opportunity.

This is why you must work with your new recruit until they earn enough commissions that can cover their monthly subscription fees.

As a true sponsor, you've got to be in constant contact with everyone in you organization at least twice weekly.

Basic Items

A successful site should have at least a few basic items.
For example, if you have chosen to sell to Internet marketers:
At my domain site I have the following ( http://www.cpucash.net)
1.Computers ( I have the Boiab system and a security system, and a network/cabling company to refer)

2.Computer software (I have a CD and a Safelist )

3.An Internet Training Program (special room at pal talk manned 24/7)

4.A Web Hosting Program( I recommend two plus a domain company)

5.An Auto responder program( set up for my opt-in lists, with training available)

6.A Business Opportunity( The Biz Opp alliance, an association of internet pro's that are changing the way internet business is going to be run and which ties all the above together ,that compliments my other offers, not compete with them).

You can also find several programs which target any specific niche group.
You want to also have on your site helpful links to Free stuff, submission places, and just reference material.
The idea here is to create income streams, by having a site your prospects want to keep coming back to, don't rely on any one program to do it all for you!!

I keep track of which of my offers is getting the more hits via my hosting company. It has daily stats for me to look at, so I can tell which pages are getting page views, in direct relation to the ad's I am sending for each page, or for my main site page itself.

If one of these pages is getting little or no traffic, then I take hard look at my 'lead in' to it....and change it on my main site...and I change the page itself. I then advertise it after each change and see what happens.
If it still is not producing, then I look at the program offer itself.

Most of your better associate companies will change their sign up pages on a periodic basis, just for that reason....your prospects do not want to see the same ole same ole all the time, as they check to determine if they really want to spend the money from your recommendations.

SOME DON'TS
Here area a couple of  Do Nots
1. Do not have a 'hit counter' on your site.
2. Do not use your ISP 'homepage' as your business site
3. Do not have 'sound' on your main page, it takes a long time to load and may tie up some computer systems entirely( the owner will never come back again, as they want the page to load FAST).
4. Do not have a lot of 'active' graphics on your main page
(for the same reason as number 3 above).
5. Keep the banners, exchange programs, web rings, etc for all other programs off you main site page ( of if you do have them, put them at the bottom, NEVER at the top where your business banner belongs ).
6. Keep the lead in for each of your  offers SHORT.

Just a brief of the program, and what it will do...if they want more info...have a link to that programs sign up or information page for them to click on.

I sure hope some of the above helps you.

Personal Touch

You will want to do something to keep your newsletter, forum or other type of area members active.

First: You will want to set up a 'bio' type of area for that will give the history of the member, one that they can fill in for other members to see. Frontpage makes it quite easy to set up a form for this and I use it sometimes to get my newsletter subscribers some 'free' exposure on my newsletter.

Here is a sample of one way to go about getting your subscribers response:

Sometimes I forget that you should always have a 'personal' touch in your business efforts, and I don't believe I have discussed how important that is !!
I am a regular person just like you !!
I have concerns, fears, and dreams, just like you !!
The intention of this 'special' is two fold.
First to give you a short Bio about me,
Second to get one from you.
I am going to have a 'featured member' of the edition on every newsletter from now on.
It will be edited for length, if too long.
It will be a short Bio, that you will send me, my newsletter members, and your url (your site address) of your website !!
I am going to do this at NO CHARGE.
All you have to do is answer theses questions:
1. Your name
answer: Robert Nixon
2. Where do you live?
answer: Los Angeles area, southern California
3. Your internet business?
answer: the cpu cash network
4. Your website internet address:
answer: http://www.cpucash.net
5. Your age:
answer: 54
6. A short situation summary:
answer: College grad, U.S.Army vet(68-71),Happily married for 30 years, Father of three sons, (two still at home) two grand children, taking care of 'MOM', age 80. Have survived layoffs, bankruptcy, re-locations, and career changes. I have been a retail store manager, route delivery truck driver, govt security agent for an Aerospace firm, security guard, auto mechanic, etc, and am an Amateur Radio Operator (general class).
7. Current Occupation:
answer: Computer Systems Tech, Senior Project Manager of a Telecommunications company
8. Internet business history:
answer: Moderate success with a shareware business in the 80's, same with a more recent MLM.
9. Goals:
answer:
1.To make a REAL success of my own business, not any program guru, so I can retire on my residual income.
2. New home
3. New cars
4. Not having to EVER worry about bills again !!
5. To help others, just starting (or even old timers that are not making it as yet), learn the 'ropes' of internet business and to find HONEST, good paying, associations to share with them.
To change my 'moderate' success to 'OUTSTANDING'!!

How to use those 'Opt-in' responder messages

A great way to get sales is to have your prospects 'opt-in' for your set of time delayed messages about your product.
It is a proven fact that if someone does not take your product or program when they first see your sign up page, that it will normally take seven or more 'follow ups' to get them to do so.
I do this by having a 'mail to' link on my product page they can click on for additonal information about the product. ( it is good business sense to give any customer or potential prospect the option to find out more before they purchase).
Almost everyone knows how to set the messages up, and any good responder program has the option to set the amount of days between your advertisements.
( I like 'get response' as the Free level does all you need )
The trick is how to advertise them and get your potential prospects to 'opt-in' for them.
DO NOT...EVER....USE YOUR RESPONDER ADDRESS AS YOUR CONFIRMATION OR JUNK E-MAIL ADDRESS WHEN SUBMITTING
You will lose your responder service and be banned from the places your submitting in a heartbeat. It is against the law, un ethical, and will defeat the purpose of it's use.
Instead you want to put the link in the body of the advertisement to your responder e-mail address.
Do not confuse this with a 'mailing list' that you may have on your domain server. The 'mailing list' should be used for personal correspondance between you and your friends,or as messages to your programs downlines/like your private box on your computer ( many use Outlook ).
The text of your messages should be much more than a 'hard sell' type of message, and really contain more info on the product, and of course a purchase link.
Honesty is the best policy.
Do not promise what you can not deliver, and don't hide the fact that in many programs, tho 'free' to join, to get the full program additional cost is involved.
Always have a 'way in' for your prospects to contact you, at a good mail address (one set aside for that purpose that is seperate from your personal address).
Always have a 'way out' for your prospects via a link to be removed from the list.
Keep your advertisement message for sign ups, short but to the point.
I have a couple of samples that I use as my ads here on the newsletter today....don't join them ( that is not my intent, I believe the best way to learn is by doing or seeing it done ).
That is unless you really do want more information on the products !!
Need help on AD content?
Here is a link for you : http://www.cpucash.net/writead.htm

When done properly, the use of responders can become an effective tool for increasing your sales.
Sincerly,
Robert Nixon

Do links really help ? Robert Nixon

IF you remember, on my 'sample' newsletter article, I discuss how to get hits and e-mail harvest. One of the ways is to get a 'links' site of your own, get it listed with submitters and use your auto responder to do the sales job for you.
As a test for you, in December I started a new web site. I moved my domain there and got to work. I got another links site, tied it to my domain and got it listed with one submiter.
Here are the results:
Month    Hits    Files   Cached   Pageviews   Sessions   KB sent
March    307919  254338     5095     244038    39355     1381943
February  75223   27922     2222      24689     7446      267481
January   57258    7036     3539       2314     4263       70735
December  43819    6830     2639       1745     3776       63174
November      0       0       0           0        0           0

I WOULD SAY THE EXPERIMENT PROVES LINKS SITES DO WORK !!

Now, do not get me wrong, it takes a little more than just getting listed. You still have to advertise your links site and your domain site. I spend about two to three hours in the mornings, and the same amount of time in the evenings,EVERY DAY, promoting my domain and it's pages. On the weekends, I spend about eight hours a day.
I submit my site to links pages ( called FFA's ), classified networks and directories.
Now this traffic has moved this site from the 700,000 range in the rankings ( using Alexa ) to the mid-160,000's, IN THREE MONTHS !!
The urls I submit are not only my main site page, but the different sub pages, as you see from the ad's on this page, /cdrom.htm,/boiab.htm ,etc.
YOU can do this too !!

Are YOU up to success?

In its simplest sense, network marketing is a sales approach where the independent distributors make a successful sale by first building relationship and showing commitment in helping, guiding and training their new distributor at how to do same that they did. All the while they earn a commission from their new distributors as well as all other distributors recruited by the people they sponsor.

Otherwise called multi-level marketing, it is based upon the idea of each person involved selling to people they recruited, with each of these people in turn, introducing their recruits into the program. It's definitely an "endless chain" that has unlimited moneymaking potential.
For example:
If you recruited just ten people into the program. Then each of these 10 persons did the same, you would have 100 distributors in your second level, and if these people were to duplicate your efforts and these 100 distributors sponsor another 10 distributors each, you will have 1,000 distributors on your third level. Assuming, you were been paid $2.00 monthly for each distributor in your downline that will total a monthly residual income of $2,220.00 of residual income monthly.
Multilevel marketing is popular and appeals to everyone because of its promise to all participants to get rich with a minimum investment, takes very little time and effort. It works because everyone wants to become rich. It's an idea that anyone, regardless of educational background, Race or financial status can perpetuate from the privacy of their home and win with it, if they so desire.

This kind of networking is growing astronomically and emerging as one of most successful marketing approaches in recent times. Recent statistic shows that in 1999 alone, the industry boasted over $81 billion dollars in global sales and over 21 million and growing new distributors in 45 countries.

It is the only industry in which ordinary people like you and I who understand the "stick to it approach" through a little effort and hard work can parlay just a few dollars into complete financial freedom, and become independently wealthy in about 2yrs to 4yrs and more importantly have the time to enjoy it.

The underlying opportunity in network marketing is awesome but before you reach this level of success, you have to understand what successful net workers do, practice them and eventually win like them.

So, how do I get started achieving this level of success, you may ask?

To succeed in any business, you've got to make some out of pocket investment. So is  marketing . But in this case, the out of pocket investment is minimal. I must be honest with you; it's going to cost you a few hundred dollars when getting started in MLM. Initial investment ranges from $50.00 to $150.00 monthly for program fees, then say about $50.00 monthly for leads generating programs. On the contrary, it will cost you about $5,000.00 to start any small business and the bad news is that you may not be in profits in your first year. With a good company, most distributors start seeing profits after three months of working the program.
Successful network marketers understand that it takes money to make money and they treat the association like their own business. They make the initial investment required to get them started. They join and become active members of their programs. They pay for leads generating programs.
They understand that, paying nothing means earning nothing.
They make their initial investments and continue to work the program until they are in profits. They may not make any profits their first month .  Normally, it takes months to start making any money with the programs and these people don't quit. It may happen faster, however, if  they work at their business a few hours daily.

Some few months ago, one of my downline partners emailed me and asked me. He would like to join this program but he has some financial problems so he wants to be sure that he can start making profits after 30 days.
I replied to him telling him, it's very unusual to start making any profits their first month. (I did this anyway, I have never paid twice for any program but my case is an unusual situation. I joined because I wanted to make money out of the programs, so I spend my time working the program the first month I joined and before the next re-billing session, I have made enough profit to cover my monthly subscription fees. I am aware that everyone can't be me)
In any case, I told them that, it's very possible but they have to follow my instructions and work crazily with the program or wait until they have enough money.
In any case, whatever anyone makes from the association is equal to the effort they put in. The more you work the program, the more the program will work for you. Successful net workers understand they have to invest money at the beginning and they don't just invest money but also work the program until they begin to cover their initial cost. This is what you are required to do. Invest and work the program.
Now, this is NOT the case, sadly enough, with most MLM's out on the internet today. You must really check them out, talk to other members and determine if it is for you to put you time, money and effort into.
Many of us experienced internet business persons know that not only do you have to have a good association, but also good products at an affordable price in order to generate income.
The trend is now towards 'direct sales'.
How this works is that you only have ONE downline( or one level) in the program and each of them is you prospect. You get a direct commission from all sales to them and it is paid in a timely fashion.
Whoever joins under them is theirs, and you don't have to worry about them what so ever !! What is even better is that the number in you line is not limited by the numeric amount of those in it !!
Sincerely,
Robert Nixon

 Is anyone seeing your ads?

I was wondering the same question to myself the other day.
It seemed to me that I was sending a lot of them out but the results were not what I was expecting. Sure, I was getting an occasional sign up for this or that program, and a ton of responses from other marketers ( which is normally from my submitting to their sites and is expected ).
I have a links submission site that is on the list of a couple of major submitters on the internet. I get some, but not all of my leads from them. Now, this is a very high traffic site with submissions being rotated off anywhere from a few minutes on the weekends, to an hour during the week days.
So I said to my self, " How about a 'test' of my e-mail harvest (leads) using this one ?"
As a requirement to posting the rule is not to use autoresponders, and you must use good e mail addresses for replies.
As we have discussed before, links sites are for generating traffic, tho a bonus will be an occasional 'page view'. The ratio of pageviews to hits will be very low from this source.
I never expect sign ups from this list, so it would be a good test.
I devised a way to:
1. See how many really read even the title.
2. To see how many had given me autoresponders as e mail addresses
3. To see how many let their mail box fill up on purpose so as not to get any mail.
4. To see how many 'spamers' were there still. You know the ones that use others e mail addresses or phony addresses on purpose.
How did I do this?
I put as the subject " Do not reply".
I also put a contact link in the body of the message
I send all the responses to one mail address I have set up at my hosting service.

The ones I look for are
1. Failure deliverys (genreal )
2. with reason of no such address (spamers) ( notice from ISP or mail program)
3. mail box full (cheaters)
4. the subject of ' do not reply' (autoresponders)
5. multipules ( which indicate spaming of the links site )
I used as my 'test' the mail 'harvest' from one submitter ( as I use different e-mail boxes for each one), which produces aroung 1,000 to 2,000 leads a day for me.

4. from 5 to 10 multiples ( from submitting across the categories, or really watching their 'return mail' for the 'link expired' message).

This is a very good results for any links type site.
That means to me that of the 8,000 to 10,000 postings a day, from various sources, that only 2 to 5 per cent are not being read on purpose according to what I was looking for during the test..
AS I look at my site stats, when I get the high end of 10,000 then I will average 6,000 to 7,000 pageviews.
Remembering that of those 600 to 700 will 'click' into one of my programs site pages, and maybe one of a hundred will sign up, then I am doing average with my advertising.

Of course, I have other places that I advertise, such as the classifieds, safelists and such, so the ratio from those may be a little higher. I look at the low end figures of volume to results so I am content.
Another trend I have seen recently is the growing amount of 'replies' to my 'confirmation of posting' response to those posting to this links site. I put all of those automatically to my 'lock out' list....they are autoresponders or worse, un-knowledgable new marketers ( who are not gonna last long on the internet anyways). ( I wish there was a way to get them into this newsletter list first, so they would have the training and insight I try to relay to you )
Summary:
Use a good e-mail address.
Use one address for confirmations and another or 'junk'.
( but you have to remember, one man's junk is anothers treasure ( if you understand reverse marketing)).
Keep you box under the limit
Never use an autoresponder as a return nor confirmation
e-mail address.
It is a matter of numbers !!
Do not EVER give up, keep doing what you are doing and it will happen for you too.

1. The spamers and the autoresponders  I put on my 'lock out' e mails on my admin program of my links site, so it will never accept any more submissions from them, if they use the same address again. Shucks, their ISP knows, as that is where I got the message about the 'unknowns'.
2. The full boxes?
I wait a couple of days and compare the lists. If the box is full after a week...then I put them on the 'lock out' list also.

*****************************************************************
2. Autoresponders

Are they a good thing or a bad thing to use?
How to use them properly ?

When used as intended they are a VERY good thing !!

The problem is that too many 'rely' on them to do EVERYTHING FOR THEM.
I use them too but as they are intended to be used.
As you see from my first article today, I have a 'links' site.
When people post to it, one of the accepted rules is that they will get 'replies to their posting', another is to use a 'valid' e-mail address.
There must also be in this message an e-mail address for those that wish to be 'removed' from any further communications.
These replies will be 'confirmations'  in the form of either 'comfirmation messages' stating so, or in advertisements.
They KNOW they will get a reply. What they do with it is up to them, hopefully on my part, they will go to my main site and take a look.
I always instruct my classes to use a different e-mail address for 'comfirmation' or 'real address' in the sumission forms ( if asked to provide one, and the better ones now days do ), and a 'junk' for the ads from responders set for the purpose of just sending ad's in response to all posting, and sometime over and over for an extended period of time..
I use a responder for 'comfirmation' of postings to my links site, with as part of the message, that they will maybe receive one follow up message with in 24 hours (to verify their e-mail address). Then I tell them their e-mail address is permantely deleted, which it is.

Marketing your web site is an ongoing process.

Our most successful associates are always trying new ways to attract prospects to their site and get customers to return.
There are numerous techniques involved in attracting visitors.
Choose a good domain name and print it on all your stationery.
Then explore some of your online options. Here are some suggestions.
- Add your URL to the major search engines and directories
- AltaVista- Direct Hit- DMOZ- - Excite- Fast / All the Web-Google
- Hot Bot-Lycos-Northern Light-WebTop- Yahoo: Suggest a Site

Note: Some of these feed other engines and directories.

Getting listed with these search engines has become extremely competitive, and the techniques for getting high rankings change with some frequency. Tune up your meta-headings and submit your site, but don't expect to jump to the top of the search engines effortlessly. Visit Search Engine Watch <http://www.searchenginewatch.com> for more information on how to succeed in search engines.
- Consider these pay-per-click search engines, where you bid on search terms.
No need to worry about fancy search engine placement techniques with these babies.
It's quite straightforward: high bidder gets high ranking.
- GoTo - FindWhat- GoClick -Sprinks- Kanoodle-Bay9- ePilot - 7Search
Manage Your Paid Listings with Did-it.com,PaidSearchEngineTools.com,or PPCBidTracker.com.
- Become Known as an Expert
You may want to participate in newsgroups and forums where your customers gather.
Be a genuine participant, offering good information in a professional manner, and people are likely to think of you when they need someone who offers what your offer. Most newsgroups do not allow advertising. However, most will allow you to include your URL in a short signature line.

Make Email Work for You

Don't use you@aol.com or you@earthlink.net as your return email address.
Use you@yourdomain.com.
In addition, set your email program up to add a short signature to the end of your electronic correspondence. This promotes your business with every email you send.
As for spamming (sending unsolicited commercial bulk email), don't do it.
It is against the Terms of Service of all reputable Internet Service Providers;
you will lose your hosting account and your Internet access.
- Use Key Words Meta-Headings to Your Advantage
Search engines use web page titles and key words and phrases to index your site.
Make sure your important key words are used in your page titles and on your pages, and that you have included relevant key words and phrases in your meta headings. In a highly competitive field where the keywords may be used by hundreds or thousands of competitors, you're better off featuring the phrases that define your niche.
- Get Linked
Links from other sites can be a great source of visitors. If you belong to any association with an online presence, make sure they know your URL, and ask them to link to your site. The same with suppliers, business associates, and any other appropriate parties. You can also write to webmasters of other sites with complementary content and ask if they'll link to your site, possibly in exchange for your linking to their site. You might also consider a banner exchange program, such as SmartClicks <http://www.smartage.com/promote/smartclicks/index2.html?>.

Why Should You Have An Opt-In List Anyway?

As e-commerce heats up and changes the way business is done in the world today,
it will become increasingly important to have your own in-house list of prospects
and customers. It is the most valuable asset a business could have. It is the
lifeblood of your business and is where the lions share of your profitability
will come from.
Why? To get a new customer is the most costly activity you can take part in.
When you figure your marketing costs, your costs to convert a customer, your
fulfillment costs a shocking truth is revealed. It may of cost you $75 to get
just one sale. If your profit on that item is only $25 you're $50 in the hole.
And no, you can't make it up by "doing volume". :-)

Hopefully you have a back-end system of other products and services to offer
that customer so you can take the unprofitable transaction and turn it into a
profitable relationship.

This is where e-mail marketing excels. With low-cost e-mail technology, what
was too expensive in the off line world of marketing, such as direct mail, is
suddenly very attractive. You can communicate, educate, up sell and resell your
customers for pennies. Not for thousands it would cost with postal mail.

You also get an unlimited number of chances to convert prospects to first-time
buyers. The most critical step in the sales process. Once someone buys from you,
trust starts to build and they will be more inclined to buy more from you in
the future, adding to your profitability.

No other marketing medium can offer one-to-one relationship building like e-mail.
With the personalization technology that is available today you can build trust
much faster and with less expense than at any time in history. And you can do
it worldwide instantly.

Always remember the higher the level of trust, the higher your level of sales.
People buy from people who they know and trust. They always have and always will.
No amount of technology will change that.

Now the major reasons why you want to have
an opt-in list is threefold.

1. You have a valuable asset that can continue to produce income for you by re-working
your list on a regular basis. Either selling other related products. (yours or
others). Selling more of a consumable item. Or getting referrals from satisfied
customers.

2. You have a valuable asset that you can leverage through doing list swaps with
other marketers. Plus you can also expand the size of your list by soliciting
their customers to join your list.

3. You have a valuable asset that you can sell in the future. As e-commerce heats
up there will be many companies looking to purchase ready-made customer bases.
Yours could be on of them. Having your own opt-in list could mean your worry-free
retirement.

These are just some of the reasons you'll went to get started immediately. Next
we'll look at how to build valuable opt-in lists.

Low-Cost Ways To Build Large Opt-In Lists...
Quickly and Easily!

From one of my Free to read E-books
'Confidential Secrets'( http://www.cpucash.net)

1. Guestbook's. One of the older opt-in systems is guestbook technology. This amounts to a form of some sort that allows visitors to type in their name, e-mail address and comments about your site. This is a reliable stand-by and can still be used with positive results. Make sure you offer the form on a number of pages in your website, not just the index page. There are numerous free guestbook cgi scripts available for you to use. Visit www.cgi-resources.com

2. Forms. People are very resistant to filling out forms today. However, you can still get a number of sign ups if you use the right techniques. A "notify me when website is updated" is a way that has been used for many years. This is sort of like a guest book but anytime you make changes or additions to your website a notification is sent to all subscribers. As a component of an overall strategy this will work well. You can get an easy to use form maker at www.FormMonkey.com

3. Also in recent months pop-up forms are becoming popular. This is where a separate smaller browser window pops up when you enter a certain web page. Some do it when you enter others when you leave. And some even operate on a time delay. This is a good way to bring attention to your form and should increase the number of subscribers who sign up. You can find some of these scripts at www.javascripts.com. They are usually easy to install and can be quite effective. You can make your own pop-up at http://javascript.internet.com/generators/popup-window.html

4. E-Zine/Newsletter. Having an e-zine is the most effective, least offensive form of e-mail marketing. It is a soft sell approach and as long as you provide solid content, not just fluff, subscribers will usually look forward to your e-zine arriving. You can offer a monthly, weekly or biweekly e-zine and promote your wares continuously as well as generate ad revenue. And build trust by educating your customers with useful information. Don't overlook this technique. It works well. Visit www.ezinez.com for great "how to" information.

5. Buyers List. The best list you could possibly own is the list of buyers that have bought from you in the past. Those who bought most recent are the hottest. Treat these lists like gold, because that's what they are. You will want to work and rework this list on a regular basis.
POWER TIP: The best advertising you have is a satisfied customer. Why not expand your buyer list by having your customers recommend you. Use a Tell-A-Friend script. This is where a prospect or customer can enter his name and the name, e-mail address of his friends. Plus a message of his choosing telling his friend about your website/product. Then all the customer needs to do is press a button and the e-mail is sent to all the recipients they entered on the form. You can get a script like this at http://bignosebird.com/carchive/birdcast.shtml or www.cgi-resources.com under remotely hosted scripts.

POWER TIP: Use a low-cost lead in product. Since buyers are the prime prospects to buy again it makes sense to have as large a list of these as possible. Why not offer a low cost product ($5-$10) just to get new prospects to buy. Then you can back-end your main product to them once you've established trust and a relationship with them. Plus you build your list much faster.

6. Message Board Subscribers. As a way to do customer research, build a community and stay in touch with your customers, nothing works like a message board. You can offer tech support, get feedback and announce new developments. However, you can also build a list by requiring members to subscribe to your message board. It's free of charge but you require them to sign up for access. When your message board becomes popular you will have quite a large list to utilize. Not all message board programs have this function available. One that does is Ultimate Bulletin Board. You can find it here www.ultimatebb.com. Or look at www.cgi-resources.com for other bulletin board software.

7. Chat Room Subscribers. Another variation on the above technique is chat room subscribers. Do the same thing as the bulletin board scenario. Give free access to your chat room but ask for name and e-mail address to become a member. You can find easy chat room systems at www.mirabilis.com and www.efwerwer.com

8. E-Book Downloads. Offering an e-book to your prospects and customers is a great way to gather e-mail addresses. An e-book is sort of a long form version of an e-zine compiled into and electronic file. There's lots of software on the market now that will do this. They key here is providing compelling content that has substance. Not fluff, blatant ad or sales letter.
Make sure you use a form they need to fill out before they have access to download the book. Check out www.editor.com for more info.

P.S. You have our permission to use this e-book as your free offering.

9. Freebies/Software. Just like the concept of offering a free e-book you can offer other freebies such as special reports, shareware/freeware, resource lists or anything else that has a high perceived value but low or no cost. Again put it behind a required form before letting them download the freebie. Check www.nonags.com for freeware.

10. Sweepstakes/Contests. Off line media have used these for years to generate leads and create interest in their products and services. They are more successful the higher the perceived value of the prize that's being given away is. Nobody wants to sign up for a chance to win a $2 prize. It must be of high value. You could give away one of your products every month. (depending on the cost). The number of sign ups that you get will far outweigh the cost of the product your giving away, as long as you work your list and convert those contest entries into customers.
Of all the techniques so far this one has legal overtones to it. You will want to check with your local jurisdiction to see what regulations are in place for sweepstakes and contests.

11. Subscribe To A Service. You could develop a free service such as search engine submission or other low/no-cost service and require name and e-mail address to get access to it. Check out the cgi script databases available on the net and find a useful service type script that you could offer. Again use a form to capture data before giving access to the free service.

12. Rent & Buy. There are lists available on the market to either rent or buy. These are lists that have been developed by other marketers who make them available. Renting means you pay a fee to have your message sent to the list being offered. Expect to pay between .05 and .20 cents per address. They will send your message for you. The secret is to offer something that requires the recipient to subscribe to your list. Using any of the previous techniques will do this. For a source check out www.net-leads.net
The other method is to purchase a list from someone else. And I'm not talking about the 100 million address cd-roms prevalent in the bulk e-mail industry. But lists that were generated with opt-in methods such as an e-zine subscriber list. The price for these lists vary widely. Expect to pay anywhere from $1 per subscriber to $15 depending on the quantity, quality and type of list. Plus in the case of an e-zine the ad revenue that is being generated from advertisers in the e-zine.

This is the fastest way to build an opt-in list but it is also the most expensive initially. It is up to you to decide if it's right for you.

Use all or any combination of these opt-in list building techniques to build a huge valuable asset quickly. Now you will need to manage this list without spending 12 hours per day laboring away.

So You Have An Opt-In List,
Now What?

From my E-book 'Confidential Secrets'
Found at http://www.cpucash.net

You've applied some of the techniques from the previous chapter and you're starting to build your opt-in list. Now what?
You'll want to maintain your list and keep it in tiptop shape.
This means cleaning it.

• Handling remove requests. Deleting the addresses of people who requested to be removed.

• Handling undeliverables. Deleting the addresses that are no longer valid.

• Handling change of address notifications. Adding the new addresses of people who have changed their address.

• Handling duplicates. Deleting duplicate entries.

• Merge/Purge your lists.

• Removing known bad check/charge back scam artists.

All these functions take time and hard work. However the rewards will be worth it. Because you'll end up with a highly responsive list that is worth more than you could ever imagine.

Doing these functions by hand is quite grueling. A better way for handling this necessary chore is to use an automated system that will do the work for you. One of the best tools on the Net for this is Recruitomatic.

( note: I am not pushing recruitomatic....other programs are just as good....such as optin lightning..but I had to put something in there for the article to make sense )

You can import/export your lists into your own unlimited database. It has a duplicate checker and it will automatically remove undeliverable e-mail addresses and remove requests every time you do a mailing.

This self-cleaning technology keeps your list in pristine condition automatically. Recruitomatic's main purpose though is its multi-follow up autoresponder system. You can subscribe your list or any portion of it to whatever message series you want. You can also schedule your message to be sent at a specific day and time. Even months and years in advance. With its sort function you can target by state, zip, domain, date or any other field you choose.

Keeping your list clean is easy with Recruitomatic check it out today. You can even get it for FREE plus a money-making affiliate program.

As mentioned above Recruitomatic can also be used as a mailing system. And provides you with these key benefits.

1. It saves you time and labor by mailing from the web not from your computer. It can take a list of 25,000 up to twelve hours to send from your 28.8 dial-up account. Typical speeds for personalized e-mailing is 2000 per hour. Recruitomatic can handle speeds up to 3000 per minute without tying up your computer and dial-up account.

2. Using Recruitomatic provides a shield from your ISP when you get spam complaints from flamers. Even though your list is 100% opt-in, people can and will complain about anything and at anytime. If you had sent your list from your computer you could easily be tracked and possibly lose your dial-up account. With Recruitomatic all your mailings originate from a mail server away from your computer, protecting you from a direct electronic trail.

These major benefits should be enough to convince you to start using a system like Recruitomatic. What you get in return in free time, saved labor and risk protection is well worth the monthly fee. And remember you can get the system FREE with their affiliate program.

Hidden Traps Cons Use To
Part You From Your Money

From My E-book ' Frontline'
This can be found at: http://www.cpucash.net

If it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
This is still the best rule of thumb available to
you to protect yourself from a scam.

Unscrupulous hucksters both online and offline use powerful motivators to get you to send them money. They know that people desire the flexibility of working from home, no commuting, choose your own hours are attractive benefits. They will advertise all these and more.

The tough part is that legitimate opportunities use the same benefits as well. So the way to separate the good from the bad is this...

A legitimate company will give you names and phone numbers of other distributors that you can talk to. When you do talk to them ask if they are being paid to do so. Some hucksters will pay people for a glowing recommendation to give their scam a look of legitimacy.

If money is required to get started, what will you get for your money? Is it just a report, a booklet, training program? Or do you get ongoing support and a proven success system. Remember which way the money is going. You are paying them, so you should get your full value from such a transaction.

A good opportunity will allow you to do your due diligence so you can, in the end, make an informed decision. Watch out for time pressure being exerted by the person selling you the opportunity. If an opportunity is good this week, it will be just as good next week, after you've checked out their references.

"How To Evaluate a Network Marketing Opportunity!"

1. What is the product? This is the first question you'll want to ask. It should be something that you would purchase even if there wasn't a business opportunity attached to it. It should be a consumable type item. Something that is used up and re-ordered. This means repeat sales and increased profits.
All legitimate MLM opportunities have a real, solid product. If they don't -- watch out! The money will be made only by recruiting others which borders on being illegal.

2. How long has the company been in business? Many new MLM companies go out of business within two years. Usually due to mismanagement and poor cash flow.
There is a growth curve that most companies go through. You want to get involved with a company that has solid financial and management backing.

3. How profitable and easy is the compensation plan? This will be where your income comes from. It must be fair and easy to understand for it to be successful. And must be tied into the sales of the product not just recruitment. Look for at least a 50% total payout depending on the level you're at.

4. What is the start up cost? Most MLM businesses cost less than $500 to sign up and get your kit. This is because of regulations in a number of states. Just because it's more doesn't mean it's bad. But you'll want to justify the cost. Ask what you get for your money.

5. What support systems and training do they offer? One of the reasons to get involved with a turnkey business is because you can plug into a proven success system. You should have the most experienced distributors teaching and helping new recruits get started. Do they offer seminars, tape courses, conference calls, web site support etc.? And for a reasonable price?

Take the time to learn from the best. You'll succeed much faster and with less time and effort.

After the opportunity has been screened through these five criteria -- check with various watch dog organizations such as...

Better Business Bureau Check your yellow pages
Federal Trade Commission 202-326-3128
National Fraud Information Ctr. 800-876-7060
U.S. Postal Inspection Service Call your local postmaster

Some non-official scam websites...

When everything passes your due diligence and you think the opportunity is a good fit -- go for it. Put your full focus on the challenge and build your business fast. It's much easier and requires less effort when you do it this way.

"How To Turn Your List Into Gold"

Turning your opt-in list into gold is the reward for all the hard work that has gone before. This is where you can develop steady cash flow for years to come. If you use the two following ways to leverage your list.
Squeezing The Profit Sponge

Working your list on a regular basis is the first way to generate cash flow. You'd be surprised how many business owners build a list of prospects and buyers and then never follow up with them. By re connecting with them you will continue to bring in new sales on a regular basis. Working your opt-in list should be done monthly. MINIMUM. This will provide...

1. A way for buyers to buy more of an item or a related item.

2. A way for prospects to be converted into first-time buyers.

3. A way to build trust by bringing offers that may interest and fill the needs of your customers.

Just this simple step will bring new sales automatically. Don't overlook the possibilities.

However, just because technology allows you to contact your list daily, does not mean that it's a good idea to do so. You must strike a balance between how often you contact your list and your zeal to make new sales. If you contact your customers to often they will become annoyed and remove themselves from your list. Reducing the size of your opt-in list. Don't lose them after all the hard work that you've done.

Soften the sales pitch by providing some useful information. Educate your audience with informative articles or quick tips. And include a plug for your product. Doing a blend of this with a straight direct sales approach will increase your customers trust and loyalty in you. Use it to your advantage.

How The Top Dogs Get The Maximum Yield From Their Opt-In Lists!

Not only can you market your products and services to your opt-in list, but you can market somebody else products as well.

The most common way to do this is with

• List Swaps
• Endorsement Deals

List swaps are just what they sound like. You swap lists with other related marketers. You send their marketing message to your list and in turn they send your message to their list. Some key things to watch for are...

• The marketer should not be a direct competitor. But somebody who markets to the same type customer as you.

• Also the size of the list should roughly be the same. (Or arrange to send to only a portion of the larger list).

• And most important, don't literally swap lists. Just swap marketing messages and each do their own mailings. In the digital world swapping digital data allows anybody to reuse, sell, or trade a very valuable commodity. Always maintain control of your data. Never give it away or swap it. The value of your list will decline dramatically because it will become overworked. You will also protect the privacy of your subscribers.

This form of leverage, list swaps, are a free way to sell to other markets quickly. You both benefit and the relationship can continue long after the initial swap. You'll want to set up as many of these as you can handle.

The other form of leverage and one that is even more powerful is endorsement deals. These are similar to list swaps except that they may be one way. That is another marketer may compensate you to do a mailing for them to your list. You'll also add your endorsement to their marketing message to build on the trust that you have with your customers.

You can be compensated in a few ways...

1. Do it for a flat fee. Charge what you think is fair for your list. Most range from .05-.20 cents or more, depending how finely targeted your list is.

2. Do it for a piece of the profit. You can arrange a profit split between the marketer and yourself. The percentage is up to the parties involved. Expect 20-75% in profit to be available. Remember the adage, "You don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate."

3. Do it as a swap. Both of you do endorsed mailings for each other. Either for free or for a profit percentage. These deals are wide open and numerous possibilities exist. Be creative and see what you can come up with.

What You'll Need To Put Deals Together

First, you will want to write your best possible sales letter and test it to get the maximum amount of responsive you can.

Next modify the letter by adding endorsement comments to it making it sound like it was written by the marketer you're doing a swap with.

Then it's time to do some research. You want to answer the following questions and make a list of possible candidates.

1. Describe your primary customer. Look at people who have bought from you and define their characteristics. How old, their sex, their interests etc.

2. What other marketers service this same customer? Either before or after they have a need for your product.

3. Make a list of product uses. How can your product be used by potential customers. Don't be afraid to think outside the box. Then after each use, list all the possible customers that can take advantage of each use. Finally who services those same type customers?

Take your time and make a thorough list of all the possible marketers who would benefit from accessing your list and vice versa. Stick with it until you have at least 25 types of marketers.

With your list in hand sit in front of your computer, log-on to the Net and start searching for those types of marketers.

POWER TIP: Use 2bpop to make it easy. You can search and save lists of appropriate sites for possible deals. You can even e-mail the website owner a pre-made letter of inquiry right from 2bpop. This free program is a real time saver. www.agnisoft.com

Best Ways To Launch Your New Business

From one of my own E-books (Robert Nixon)

Marketing will make or break your new business.
It begins and ends here. To succeed in any business
you must develop excellent marketing skills.

How To Failure-Proof All Your Marketing Copy

You should as quickly as possible learn how to write a good ad that gets results.

Anatomy of a good ad...

You'll want to have the following elements in all the marketing documents you write.

A Great Headline - this is 80% of the success of any ad. Headlines get your ad read or passed over. Make sure you have a good one.

A Great Opening Paragraph or Sentence - once the headline pulls in a reader the next 20 words must pull them into the rest of the copy. You should use your most compelling benefit here or use the prospects biggest frustration and promise to solve it for them.

Pile Benefit Upon Benefit In Your Body Copy - people buy benefits not features. They want what the product will do for them. Make sure you tell them and show them how what you have will solve their problems.

Build Credibility and Believability - if you claim it - prove it. Use testimonials, case studies, demonstrations to back up and prove what you claim. Otherwise it will come across as only hype.

Create a Powerful Offer - this is what will get a prospect to act now. Use bonuses, time limits. special discounts or any combination.

Reduce Their Risk - Give a Guarantee - put the risk on you not on your prospect. Remember the money is coming to you therefore your prospect has all the risk. Give a money back guarantee. Very few people will abuse this and the ones that do will be made up with the increased sales you'll get by offering a guarantee. If not, you need to find a new product.

Use these elements in your ads and you'll get more sales with less time, money and effort.

How Benefit-Rich Is Your Site?

Getting hits but few sales at your site?

Spending valuable time and money on traffic
generation with little profits to show for it?

Maybe it's time for you to re-examine your site and punch up your profits with benefit-rich copy.

90% of the sites on the web are nothing but a dry lifeless list of features. Does yours feel into this category?

Here's how to fix it now.

A feature tells what a product or service is. It describes the product such as...

Search Engine Submission Software

This gives you an idea of what the product is, but people don't buy based on features. People buy based on benefits. Or what the product will do for them.

Always remember a feature tells what it is.
A benefit tells what it does.

IS vs. DOES!

Let's take this example and make it benefit-rich copy.

Fast, Easy-To-Use Search Engine Submission Software
Increases Your Visibility!

Builds more traffic and bigger profits automatically.

Read the original, then read the second example. Which one compels you closer to pressing the order now button?

This is the power of benefit-rich copy. It makes all the difference between having a web visitor vs. having a customer.

Use this quick formula to convert your features to benefits.

Feature + What the customer gets = Benefit

To really add spice to your benefits you'll want to tie them to powerful sales motivators.

People want to...

Save Money Avoid Discomfort
Save Time Be Popular
Increase Wealth Avoid Risk
Save Effort

In the improved version notice we added fast (save time) easy-to-use (avoid discomfort), builds bigger profits (increase wealth), automatically (saves time). These all help pull a prospect close to the order button.

Let's take this up an notch and really get them to order now. To build believability into your benefits you must use specifics and not generalities.

We'll revise the previous example one more time.

Fast...Easy-To-Use Search Engine Software Increases your visibility 67%. Generates 10,000 hits per day. Builds 237% profit increase for webmaster from Ohio...in just 23 minutes!

See the difference that specifics make? Who could resist a benefit like this?

Take a look at your site today and see how many features you can turn into compelling benefits. You'll increase your sales automatically without any increase in traffic. Guaranteed.

Launching Your Campaign

Always test small before you roll out big.

Place just one ad at a low cost and measure results. If it tests well, try two or three placements. When it proves successful then roll out in a big way, if you have the capital to do so. Testing is the least expensive and surest way to never lose money on your marketing efforts. More on testing later.

Pay the Least Possible Price for the Biggest Results

You should never pay retail or rack price for your ad space. Publications survive based upon ad revenue. It's their job to sell ad space. This means that to fill space they are open to negotiation - especially in slow economic times. They'll even offer remnant space that hasn't been sold yet, and will sell it at a reduced rate. Always ask if they have remnant space available. If not, have them put you on their list. They'll call you when space is available. You can get up to 50% even 70% off using this technique.

Remember never pay retail.

When you reduce your ad expense and increase your response rate you create a multiplying effect. When you have a marginally profitable product this one-two punch can make all the difference. Don't overlook these techniques.

FREE Advertising Technique

Probably most effective way to market your business for FREE is to use articles.

Both online and offline publications are always on the lookout for good content. They need articles every month even weekly to fill their pages. This represents an opportunity for you.

Write an article about anything the publishers readership would be interested in. Put a resource box at the end of the document so people can reach you. You'll be surprised at the results you get.

Write an article about your area of expertise. Make it informative and info-packed.

Type it into your email program as a text file.
Go to http://www.ezinez.com
Do a keyword search on your subject matter.
Select ezines that cater to your targeted market.
Send your article to these ezine publishers.

That's it and it didn't cost you a dime!

You have a much better chance of getting published online quickly that through print publications.

The Secret of Testing -- How To Increase Cash Flow Without Risk

There is no other action you can take that will produce a higher yield on your marketing investment then testing. You need to test everything that you do.

Test every sig file, classified ad, sales letter. Test mediums, ezines ads, banner ads, search engines, newsgroups. Test each sub set of that medium, an individual ezine, a certain banner exchange, a certain opt-in email list, etc.

Getting results is good, but getting excellent results is even better. Many marketers make the mistake of settling for OK results when with just a little more tinkering to a headline or other variable you can increase yield tenfold.

ALWAYS test your marketing before committing to any large outlay of capital. It's much better to lose small than to lose big. When you lose small you live to fight another day. But, when just one big ad bombs you could be wiped out with no other options left but to give up.

The maxim for testing is to test small, then roll out big only after you've identified what works. With a relatively small budget you can test till you find the winning combination of a good ad and a good medium/list. Once you've cracked this code you can proceed with a larger campaign with a higher level of confidence that you'll succeed. Then just do more of what works to increase your results.

There are 3 principles involved with testing...

 1. Finding the ad copy that pulls the highest yield.

 2. Finding the medium or type of advertising that works.

 3. Finding the list or publications that work

First you need to develop an ad that works. Let's take a classified ad as an example. You want to write 10 different ads. Then select the two you think are the best. Then place the ads in an ezine or other medium. It's important to keep as many variables the same as you can. This means the two ads should appear in the same ezine and in the same issue. This is the only way to get an accurate measurement of the pulling power of and ad.

This is sometimes know as an A/B split test. Everything is the same except the ad copy of the ad. In ezine advertising the only variable you may not have control over and may skew results is the placement of the ad. Depending where the ad is placed in the publication can determine the pulling power, whether on top vs. on the bottom, etc. can make a difference in an ads effectiveness. You usually don't have control over this. However you can usually get a good feel for what ad pulled the best despite the placement.

POWER TIP: How do you know what ad pulled the best? Well, in the offline world you could run the response through different 800 numbers. Or use different Suite numbers, etc. In the online world there are much better ways to do this, and they are totally automated. Every click that takes place on the Internet can be recorded and calculated. This means you can tell exactly how many people clicked on your ad. The secret is in the web address you put in your ad. One service that is available is called Lightning Tracker(refered to here as 'the Ad tracker').
This service program will let you set up as many ads as you want to track. You basically create a tracking event by selecting a name of the event. Then the Ad Tracker will create a special web address to use in your ads. When someone clicks on this address it is logged by the Ad Tracker and is added to the stats that you can view in real time. You'll want to create a different address for each ad that you run. This will clearly identify which ad pulled the best.

This ad will become known as your control ad. You'll do future testing of other ads against this one. When you've identified an ad that pulls better than your control replace your old ad with this new one. Then do some more testing against this new control. Testing is a never ending process. The relentless marketer always makes more than those who give up early.

Once you know you have a winning ad you can continue the testing process with various media. In the case of the classified ad you'll want to test ezine ads vs. web site classifieds. Test online classifieds vs. offline classifieds, etc.

POWER TIP: You can test mediums by using the same ad tracking tool as before. This time you use a designation that reflects the medium chosen. For example you could use, ng for newsgroups, eb for your ebook, mb for message boards, etc. You'll want to carry this technique one step farther by testing individual publications and specific lists or groups. You could use nmz for the "Network Marketing EZine," entng for the "Entrepreneurs Newsgroup," mlmdl for the "MLM Discussion List" and so on. Keep a written record of which code is for what ad, medium or specific resource. Then analyze the stats on a regular basis. You'll notice trends not readily available any way else. Some ads will not pull as effectively as they use to.

Some media will not pull well at certain times of the year.

Knowing this information can save you a lot of money and help you get the most out of every marketing dollar spent.

When you've determined what medium works the best, then test one publication against another. In the offline world test daily papers vs. weeklies vs. magazines. Over time you'll identify what produces the highest yield for each marketing dollar spent. This is the area where you'll want to spend more money and roll out big.

You can also pyramid your profits to bigger type ads. You can go from classifieds to a larger sponsorship ad for example. You could go from a 1" ad to a 1/4 page ad. From a classified to a banner ad with the same copy. Keep moving to larger size ads until it there is no longer a cost benefit to it.

To figure the yield take the cost of an ad and divide it by the number of leads or click throughs that you get. If an ad cost $35 and you got 35 click throughs, you paid $1 per lead. If for the same price you got 50 click throughs you paid .70 cents per lead, a better yield. Now if you bought a bigger ad for let's say $100 and received 125 click throughs you paid .80 per lead, a lower yield. You'd be better off to use the smaller ad since the yield was lower. That's why testing and measuring are so important. Getting the maximum out of every dollar spent can mean success or failure.

One last area of testing you'll want to keep an eye on is your sales conversion.
It's one thing to get a click through to your site it's another to actually get a sale.
The quality of the lead is important. To get a better sales conversion getting a qualified prospect is crucial. Some media will produce a lot of clicks but few sales. This is true with ads as well.
Keeping an eye on both the click throughs and the number of sales is what will determine the ultimate combination of medium and ad copy. Cost per sale is the bottom line measurement you want to use for all your marketing.
What did it actually cost you to get that sale?

Harvesting The Cream Is Easy..
So Why Don't More Businesses Do It?

It takes more time, money and effort to acquire a new customer than it does to sell something to an existing customer. Having a relationship with your existing customer base is the most valuable asset your business has...if you can harvest it properly.

Most businesses today spend a fortune on getting a customer to purchase their product/service and then just file away the name and never re-solicit that customer again.
Big mistake. Huge mistake.

Re-selling, cross selling is where the real profits are made in any business. And it's the easiest money you could ever make. An existing customer is already pre-disposed to buy from you again. So take advantage of it. It's easy.

If you were to provide your users with helpful suggestions on how to use your products, how to better re-sell your products, and also subtly tell them about other products and services you have, you have many opportunities to sell them on other products and services you have to offer.

Microsoft and other large successful companies do this all the time. They make more sales from upgrade than from existing sales. No matter what product Microsoft wants to launch, I can guarantee you, they will have people buying from them. This is free advertising for them. You too can use this system.

To have a sustainable business model, you need recurring sales. Often times, when a customer buys something from you, you simply file it away. However, you are missing one of the most precious asset you have. YOUR CUSTOMER BASE. This is a source of a huge opportunity to cross sell your other products and keep your users informed of the latest developments of your company/industry or field of interest. By keeping a relationship with your customers, you increase their awareness of you, and consequently retain better recurring sales.

Humans are creatures of habit. If they buy from you once, they are more likely to come back to you and buy from you again...assuming they were satisfied with your products and services.

For example, if a customer buys a pair of ladies pants from you, there is a good possibility (assuming you have treated them well and they were satisfied with you service), they would not mind receiving emails from time to time (say every two months) inviting them back to your site to buy other ladies clothing items. Especially if the item was on sale.

You might not even make anything off the initial product sale, but you get three very important benefits.
 1) You add another customer to your list.
 2) You get them into the habit of coming back to your site so they are more likely to book mark your site.
3) They will very likely buy other things from you while they are at your site. This is where the real money is made. Isn't that worth the effort?

To Maximize This Concept You Need Two Things:

 1. Additional products or services that enhance, add to or are a logical extension of your original product. Whether these are your products or somebody else's.

 2. An automated follow up system that does all the work for you. So nothing falls through the cracks and a system that relieves you of all the daily drudgery of manual follow up.

On the net today there are very sophisticated tools that can handle the follow up for you. Get response is one of the tools I use, it has follow up messages which are delivered by e-mail.

It's easy to generate cash flow from your business any time you want it. You just need the right tools and a profitable backend. And today those tools are here. Take advantage of them.

1.Internet Marketing
Direct Marketing - Direct marketing is advertising that asks people to
take action. It directs them to respond by requesting more information or to
buy the product on the spot. Direct marketing can be done in magazines,
radio, mail and the Internet as well.

An example of direct marketing is when you watch an infomercial on TV and
they give you a phone number to call to place an order. The infomercial did
the selling and then they give you the phone number so you can take action.

Typically direct marketing campaigns needs a minimum of 4x profit margin
or higher in order to be successful. Many direct marketing campaigns lose
money up front or breakeven, because they are designed to make the money on
back end marketing - secondary sales after the first sale.

Straight direct marketing campaigns will not work for most network
marketing products because there is not enough profit margins to be able to
afford expensive advertising campaigns. There are some exceptions.

But MANY direct marketing techniques can be used in an online business
building system for Internet Based Network Marketers.

Internet Marketing - Internet marketing is simply using the Internet
instead of another medium such as TV or magazines to advertise.

 The Internet is:
  1) Highly Interactive (email, video conferencing, autoresponders,
multi-media, etc)
  2) Information intensive
  3) The ultimate environment for creating sales systems, because of the
controls you can build into web sites through design, copy, multi-media and
programming.
  4) Worldwide access
  5) 24 hours a day
  6) Speed
The drawbacks for Internet marketing are:
  1) It can be VERY impersonal.
  2) People do not always trust making purchases from strangers or unknown
web sites.
  3) We are in the transition period of people getting used to the Internet
being part of their everyday life. Not everyone is familiar with all the
things the Internet can do.

An Internet Based Network Marketer can use ALL of the assets of Internet
marketing very effectively. Just applied differently than some other types
of marketing. In addition many of the negatives of Internet Marketing can
actually be turned into positives, because of the personal relationship
building aspect of network marketing.

These 3 types of marketing are all disciplines that an Internet Based
Network Marketer can strategically borrow from at times. But in order to do
that, you MUST have a DEEP understanding of the differences of each these
disciplines.

Or you won't know, what each one has to offer or which one to borrow from
and when.

That does not necessarily mean you have to have a deep understanding of
these disciplines, just the people who design the system.

Network marketers who mistakenly follow after any one or all of these
other marketing disciplines in search of the Holy Grail of success usually
end up abandoning the TWO things that make network marketing the MOST
powerful marketing discipline of ALL.

Word of Mouth Advertising and Personal Relationships.

This common mistake is just ONE of the reasons why Network Marketers are
failing to build their business through the Internet.

I am going to challenge you to start taking this business seriously and
start acting like a professional. If you want to make good money in network
marketing, you need to start thinking and operating like someone who makes
good money.

I am not going to sugar coat it. I am not going to tickle your ears.

I am going to tell it to you like it is. And you can take this information
and ignore it or apply it. It's up to you. But what I am going to give you
is the foundation for being a SUCCESSFUL Internet based Network Marketer.

Let's start by knocking down a few misconceptions.

Most people attempting Internet Based Network Marketing get involved in
activities like.

1.Hiding behind a computer to avoid talking with people.
   2.Programming or designing web sites.
3.Joining every biz opp deal that comes their way - legitimate or not.
4.Blasting out emails to their buddies about the HOT money game of the
week.

If you are doing any or all of the above activities, and not having the
success you desire, I am here to tell you that. You MUST understand what
Network Marketing is, before you can be an Internet Based Network Marketer.

Got the will ?

Where there is a will, there is a way.
This old saying is insightfull as it gets to
the heart of most problems.

IF you do not have the will to do anything as it
should be done...then you will not find a way to
accomplish what has to be done. If your desire matches your will,
then you will be up to do it takes to achieve your desire.

I often hear new people that are starting
their own internet business tell me " I can not afford this...or that".
What they are really saying is that their will to accomplish their
goal is not there. If it was...they would find a way to afford what
they need to do the job correctly.

Any business, internet or not, has a start up cost.
Any business, internet or not, has a period of outlay (overhead)
that must be maintained untill profits develop enough to overcome
this outlay (overhead).

First, you have to determine what these cost are going to be.
1. ISP cost. ( $9.00 to $50.00 per month)
2. Domain securing and renewal.($10 to $40.00 per year)
3. Site (domain) hosting. ($10.00 to $30.000 per month)
4. Program association cost.( $100.00 to $150.00 per year)
5. Advertising and marketing cost. ($10.00 up to and sometimes more than $ 50.00 per month)
( You must put in here a good group mailer program, which may be a one time cost)
6. Your time ( What you make an hour at work X the time you put in)
7. Equipment ( computer,printer,etc). ( $500.00 to ? per year ( for many a one time cost).
( You must put in here the cost of Anti-virus programs etc).

If the cost totals, as an example, are $100.00 a month, then
you have to budget in this into your existing outlays. That is only
$25.00 per week, so that is not bad, when you think about it.

Give yourself time before you plan to make a profit,
and you will not be always 'on edge' about making money.
I am talking about a GOOD profit, not just a couple hundred a month.

Multiply your montly outlays by 12 and your yearly expense will be $1,200.00.
That is what you can claim on taxes for your business,if you have
done all the steps according to your local 'small business' laws.
Now,don't get me wrong, it is possible to make a success of your internet business by keeping the cost down by using a many FREE places as you can in your Advertising and Marketing. It will take time to find productive places to post your advertisements using this method,as there are hundreds of sites that will have to be tried before you find the ones that will produce results.
What many successful internet professionals do however, is pay for submitter programs, such as World submit or Exploit, the cost is affordable and with the click of your mouse your  url goes out to hundreds,if not thousands of places. (and some of your better associations will have submitter programs for your use).
This would go under your Advertising and marketing budget.

This brings me to what most complain about, time.
The time you spend on your business is going to directly determine the time it will take to turn a profit.
Do not expect to spend, let's say,ten hours a week advertising your business and honestly expect to make fantastic profits your first month.
It can happen, in rare cases, and it can happen for you,but never think that it will, you will not be dismayed if doesn't.

Remember: the internet is all about reading. It will take time for the right person to see your ad and to respond. There is a thing called the 'seven times rule'.
Simply stated: On the average it will take a prospect seeing your ad seven times before they respond. Why? It is called 'product association'. This is where they will identify YOU with the product and the product with you.

This is where your 'opt-in' list comes in handy. Send those interested, but not taking at this time, to your opt-in list. This is really an auto responder address that sends your message to them, with time delays between messages, for up to thirty days. LET it do the
work for you !! ( Remember to always put in the necessary disclaimers here and a removal from the list link ). ( A legal requirement in most states and a Federal law ).

Do NOT become a 'lotto fever' person. What this means is do not expect some great amount of return for a very small investment. Most lotto's are a 14 million to ONE long shot as it is, what makes you thing you are going to beat the odds?

You can get your domain at many places at a very affordable cost. It will take two to three days, once you do for the information to filter the internet once you do however, and for it to be active.
You should have your site ready for the domain name to be 'pointed to' by the time this happens.
Get your site located at a good hosting company but make sure it has all that you will need, or can be up graded quickly, if you do need additional services such as a MSQL database.
Many also come with unlimited e mail address, etc. Advertise your domain site page with links on it to the products you are selling. If you change affiliations, then it is simple to just adjust your one page to either take it off or to add additional ones.
There are still a few good places to get FREE websites on the internet. One that I have found is at: http://www.netmarkpro.net/cpucash/signup.html
REMEMBER: When you get a FREE site such as the one above, that you will be limited in content etc, but you will get your feet wet...the internet is to get you to purchase the entire program. ( But you don't have to and the above is one of the better FREE sites I have found).

Drive traffic to your site and let your prospect determine which program is suited for their needs. At that site page, have links to your other products or associations.
Ask your association members about good hosting companies, and check them out. The demand for your business is great among them and you will get some great deals if you just look around. There are
some great associations out there for you that include useful tools and services for their members.
Example: Netmark pro (http://www.netmarkpro.com/cpucash )
and the Biz Opp Allince (http://www.bizoppalliance.com/member100027108 ).
I am not telling you to join those, just that both offer affordable and different products that will enhance your chances of success.
There are others, and you may belong to one now.

That is the secret, find an association that suits you, so you will have the incentive to work the steps necessary to accomplish your goals. ( See the seven steps to success article in my past newsletters at:
http://www.cpucash.net/newsletterlist.htm  ),

( or go to: http://www.cpucash.net/stepstosuccess.htm ).
Find one that has a good pay out structure, plenty of support
and if your new to the internet, training and real time assistance for you.

Get only what you can afford. As your profits increase you can always up grade in most associations and reap more benefits. NEVER join anything as a FREE member for more than just a couple of weeks,
as a test of the association. You will be so limited in what you can get in return for your time, that it will be unproductive. The old saying, "You get what you pay for", holds true here.

Once you get a site, you can have it done professionally, or you can get an editing program and do it yourself. That is not as hard as you may think, but there is a learning time you must spend to become
confident and to do what you want with your site pages.

In conclusion: Make a budget, determine the time you are going to spend, get what you need to accomplish your goals and get started. With over 500,000 new people getting on the internet every day, your chances of success are there.

Done all the steps ?
( A review of where I am leading you ) Robert Nixon

Here are the steps you should be taking or have done already:
1. Create Your Own Web Site
You will really be 'established' when you have your own domain name and it's associated e-mail addresses. You will finally be free from your ISP. NOW you can join 'web rings' and have 'links' to other type companies that are 'begging' for them, on your 'free stuff' page.
   http://www.cpucash.net
2. Generate Traffic
You have your submitter programs and maybe even your own 'links' type page (listed with some of the more popular submitters used on the internet today) to generate leads from your target group.
    http://www.cpucash.net/ffa.html
3. Start an Opt-In List
You have your own list, (where you send prospects for 'more information' about certain products you are selling.
For more information on Biz Opp Alliance send a blank e-mail to:
    robertnixon100027108@getresponse.com

4. Develop a Unique Web Position
All you have to do is add on some extra bonuses to those people who are purchasing from you. For example, if you're an affiliate for a video course, then add in a special free report on the same subject which is ONLY good for those who order from you. Your free report can be emailed to those who order so it won't cost you a penny of your commissions (like this newsletter).
5. Generate Multiple Streams of Income
You should join several non-competing programs which sell products to the same targeted market,or one that sells several various types of products such as hosting, safelist, submission tools..etc.
   http://www.cpucash.net
6. Get a growing database of e-mail addresses from your 'links' type pages and send your message to them UNTIL they 'request removal'.
How to write ads: http://www.cpucash.net/writead.htm

NOW: The true secret of success is to be determined and persistent.
Do not listen to those trying to distract you from YOUR goal.
Stay focused and keep up a set routine.
Plan your work and work your plan.
Give yourself TIME to become successful.

Link to Robots ? by Robert Nixon

When you submit your site to a search engine, the engine will send
a robot to archive your site and note any changes since it's last visit.
You may also tell robots how often to re-visit your site with a special 'meta tag'.
Some of these engines desire links.
You will want to link to them.
These are one of those 'quality' links that were discussed in previous articles of this newsletter.
Many share databases with other engines.
(As you know MSN has no database of it's own, it uses other engine's to get results for'serches')
You will have to put a link on your site but it will pay off in higher rankings with the search engine and other search engines when their robots see that link.
If you are not able to do so yourself, have your programer put the link on your site.
I keep all my links on my 'Free stuff' page.
This is also another reason you should have a seperate e-mail address for your 'confirmation' messages.
Sometimes these messages turn out to be VERY productive.
I have had a 'scrubby' link on my site all during this test period.

Use your Web Mail
   By Robert Nixon

Many ISP's and hosting companies have what is called 'Web Mail'.
This function lets you check your e mails from anywhere in the world
and can be used to your advantage.

First: If you have this option from your ISP, then do NOT do as I suggest here.
You do not have the versitlity and the storage space to do this, and you may lose Your ISP if you do.

IF you have your's via your hosting (where your domain is 'directed to' AND you have a large enough account with some megs ( at least 300 0r so) then read on.

The hosting companies I reccomend at this time that are reasonable are:

successfull and mastermind,
as for under a dollar a day you get a lot for your buck, I know there are others but since I do not use them, I can not reccomend them. (such as SBC,Bell South,Boiab,to name a few)

There are several levels you can select from but agian, have patience when setting them up and getting all the 'bells and whistles' to work, as it may take getting some bugs out for what you desire to have installed as a part of your service. (like MSQL,Frontpage extensions, etc.)

Remember: it takes about 24 to 48 hours just for your DNS to become effective from your domain registration service ( I use namesecure ).

What I have done is set up a mail box for each Association,Safelist and submission program I use on a regular basis.

Remember: Do not use your private mail box, the one that goes to your home PC.

When I send an ad out from my harvested e mails via my mailer program,
I have another two for it...the reply and the normal e mail addresses, and the 'removal' link.
(as required by law,by the way)

I also have one just for the comfirmation type of messages.
( as you know, many networked sites verify your emial before you can
place your ad, so I send that message here)

The benefits of this are immense.

Not only can I see what my safelist is sending, the trends, etc. but I can track which ads produce from where AND do not have thousands of emails on my download on my home PC.

It keeps any emails from bouncing.

This leaves my private e mail address box clean, and as this is the one I use not only for my personal e mails but for the newsletters I subscribe to, a good place for me to read what I consider important for research for this newsletter.

SAFELIST: This is either your own or one you belong to.
They are a form of opt in.
They are a great source of testing ads, but NEVER rely on them to make you a solid income unless you have your own.
If you are considering this, then be prepared to spend many hours a week maintaining it.

Another benefit of doing this method with 'web mail',

I can ignore all the 'replies' to my sent message, or not, if I choose.
What I really want is :
1.'click thrus' to the url I am advertising,
(which I keep track of using Opt in Lighting)
2. sign ups for the opt in's in the ad.
( my get respones timed release e mails)

I have lately noticed a trend of the over zealous sending ads to my 'feed back' link, to my 'webmaster' link on my site pages.

These I really hate and take the necessary action promptly to insure
they see the errors of their ways.
( note here: some companies use 'spyware' to seek out email addresses on the internet sites and in turn sell those, so you must be very polite in your letters to those sending ads to these addresses ).
Conclusion:
Web Mail is a great tool IF you use it correctly.
You can check your mailbox's from any PC in the world.
It does have it's limits, so do not expect it to work like
your outlook etc. that you may have on your home or office PC.
It will keep traffic off your ISP thus keep the fear of losing it from
your mind.

Why did I select the name Cpu Cash Network?

Cpu= computer

Cash= income

Network= one place with many members sharing a common idea

What is this newsletter all about?

Giving you, the reader, information about internet business promotions and web site marketing.

I started this site three years ago from scratch, that is with from nothing.

Now it gets over half a million hits a month. I will show you how to do the same. I desire to assist you from making the same costly mistakes I made along the way.

What you sell at your site, or whatever you are promoting, it makes no difference, there are basic truths.

For too long these have been hidden from the general internet. NOT ANY LONGER !! I am doing so, At no charge.

Does 'Home internet business' really work? By Robert Nixon

Having an internet business is just like having a business in what we call 'the real world', that is, a business like the one that you may work for every day.

The difference is you do not have the overhead of the building space, and other employees.

But that is your goal !!

YOU desire to be an 'owner' not a 'worker'.

The problem is that most ignore that you have to 'work' at your business whether you own it or not.

IF you do not believe 'home business' is work, or that you can make income from your internet business without 'really working' at it:

THEN DO NOT ATTEMPT IT !!

Not that you can not make income from working an internet business, but most do not want to put in the time, effort, nor invest into it.

 Can it really be done?

Again, yes it can.

Example: I have a personal friend that goes to 'yard sells' every weekend. He buys items, takes them home, and re-sells them on E-BAY.

Does he make a 'full time' living from this?

NO, not yet, but he can afford vacations for his family and has supplemented his families income.

The secret to his growing business is he 'really' works at his business.

He puts in the time: Going to the yard sales

He puts in the investment: Buying the items, Paying for listing them on E-Bay.

He puts in the work: Listing, and shipping the products.

Does he quit when sales are slow or if a week goes by without making one? NO

YOU Must understand business is a numbers racket.

For every thousand persons the see you ad, you will get ONE person that will 'check out' your site.

For every thousand people that check out yo
